Smitten

Wedding anniversary card for friends...he is a local fish ad game warden and she has worked in the school for years.  Found this old photo in a book (I must confess it is probably copyright protected, but it was a gift...not sold) My angel company, Artchix provided the beautiful heart with wings and the bird peeking into the canoe.  I added a "smitten" and lovely hand made papers from my store bought collection of scraps.  So much fun to make cards for people I know!

Courage...is fear that's said it's prayers

I heard this quote at a 12 step meeting or read it somewhere and it conjured up pictures of higher power watching over us.  Items used: Artchix velum angel and bird, old photo, small feather in woman's hat, antique ledger page and stick-on letters.  This was made into a paperweight. I love the soft muted tones of light blue and brown together.

Life is hard, find a comfortable place to sit.

I began making cards for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. when cards I LOVED in stores went above three dollars.  Thinking like many seamstresses do, "I could make that for a lot less." Yeah, it inspires me to create a card that is personal to the person and a labor of LOVE.

I made this for a 12 step anniversary card.  Items used: copy of old post card, cut out and glued on top of adorable chair copied from greeting card, artchix studio humming bird, and other assorted colorful papers.

So true isn't it...Life IS a Journey!
Birthday card...used an old photo from in-laws photo album and hand colored the dress and shoes, journal page out of store ledger from 1800's, stickers and stamps.  Artchix Studio elements included:  "Journey" clip and chocolate wings.  Inside..."you had the power all the time" (as in the RUBY slippers).

Taking a leap of faith

Inspired by the movie, Julie and Julia, I have committed to creating a blog to display my art and PUSH me out of my comfort zone. I am making a commitment to display some of my art every day for a year!!!
